Fun in the Sun!

Well this past week has been a fun one. The girls out here have decided to do a couple of extra things this summer for the kids. Tuesdays we go to this park where they give the kids a free lunch (provided by the school district) and then they get to play in the wading pool there. It's 18" deep and Drew absolutely loves it.

He loves being able to splash in the water and run around in it. He also likes the fact that mom doesn't have to be in there with him, but on occasion he does drag me in to give me a good splash! It is such a great park for the kids.

We still go to the mall on Wednesdays to let the kids play at the play place. And Thursdays we are now going to the pool at our complex here to have a good swim. Doug and I just bought Drew a life jacket so now he can play with the other kids in the pool. I'll post some pictures of him in his new swim wear after the pool this week. We only bought the jacket Sat.

I hope everyone can keep cool this summer, we sure are trying. But with 89 degrees and 95% humidity, it's kind of hard! Chow!

A SPECIAL DAY FOR SOME SPECIAL MEN!

Father's Day, what a wonderful day! A day to celebrate the amazing father's in our lives. And even though I'm a day late on posting this, I don't care. These three men are worth mentioning.

First off I want to tell Doug how much I love and appreciate all he does for our family. You put so much time and effort into school that I'm shocked you still have time for us, but I'm thankful you do! You are such a wonderful dad to Drew that I don't know what Drew would do without you around. You being gone on rotation is going to kill him. Drew adores his you so much, especially when you both get to run and play. You have a great way of making Drew cackle! (He has such a cute cackle!) Thank you for honoring your priesthood and for taking me through the temple. I am so lucky to have you in my life. Thank you honey for your wonderful ways of making this family have such a great time together. You are the absolute best and I love you so much!

Next I want to thank my father-in-law Dennie. Thank you so much for raising such an amazing son who was able to take me through the temple. Thank you for teaching him the value of family and how important it is to spend time with them. And thank you for being a wonderful grandfather to Drew. He absolutely enjoyed having you around this week. He is sad that you are gone. Thank you for all your love and support for us. You are the best father-in-law a girl could ask for and I love you!

And last, but certainly not least, my own father. Dad you are the greatest man I've ever known. Thank you so much for all you have taught me throughout my life. Thank you for always believing in me, especially when I needed it most. Thank you for all of your priesthood blessings, for those ones on the first day of school! And thank you so much for your amazing ways of being an awesome grandpa! Drew adores you and loves it when you're around. (Which means you need to come out again!) And he has absolutely loved that scooter! (Will that fit on the plane?!!) Thank you for everything dad. You are the best! I LOVE YOU!

Awesome House!

For all you Jazz fans out there, check out Andrei Kirilenko's house. Obviously it isn't finished yet, but it is going to be gorgeous! It has a full size indoor basketball court in the basement. It was one of the sights we saw while home in Utah.

Our Trip Back Home

As good as it was to be with our families back in Idaho and Utah, it sure is nice to be home. We had such a great time with everyone. We flew into Utah and Doug's mom picked us up at the airport and drove us 2 hours to her BEAUTIFUL home in Preston, ID. Her house is about 4 or 5 miles up Cub River Canyon...let me just say, gorgeous! It's tucked back up on the mountain with a wonderful view of the other side of the canyon! When you are at their house, you are truely on vacation. Everything is at least a half hour away...Preston and Logan! Doug's dad spends most of his days working in the yard or in their garden. Right now he is currently working on a waterfall in the backyard. It is going to be awesome! This picture shows their beautiful house and it is just as pretty inside as it is outside.
Drew had such a blast there. He learned to say the word "kitty." Doug's parents have a stray cat that has adopted them. Drew and Dennie (Doug's dad) feed that kitty every day, and Drew just loved that.
The greatest way to get around inside that canyon...four wheelers! We had such a great time riding those that we decided to give Drew a chance. He loved it until he saw someone and then would cry! What a goon!

Now, the best part was his parents Jaquzzi tub! It's jets are air jets and they feel so good. We put Drew in it one night, but had to take him out right after because he was so scared. The tub is so deep and wide that it was like he was sitting in a pool. In order to get Drew to sit in it, Doug had to sit in there with him. So Doug put on a swim trunks and got in the tub. And as you can see by the picture, Drew loved it as much as we did!

Now for our trip to Utah! Doug and my dad went golfing one of the days and so my mom and I took Drew to the Hogle Zoo! They have this white aligator there, so cool! We saw lots of animals and watched the bird show. Drew had such a blast, all he kept saying was, "Cool! Wow!"

When Drew saw the birds, he went nuts! He couldn't stop smiling! He would laugh and clap when the birds would fly by, he was so excited to be there!

We did so much stuff while we were away that it's so hard to say everything. And even though this blog is long, it's not near as long as it could be!! Drew played with my mom in the fountains at the Gateway, we went bowling, Drew played with my cousins (The one in the picture is Tanner, he is 4), rode a small bike, rode a scooter with my dad, and played in the mountains. We had so much fun. Thank you everybody for making this trip so great! We can't wait to see you again in August!
