Over the river and through the woods...

Well, I'm sure glad that our first full week here in Utah is over! Not that I haven't loved it, but it gets real old traveling from one place to the next. Doug and I drove from our house in Iowa to his parents house in Preston, ID on Friday the 15th. We spent the next few days there with family and then left Tuesday for my parents house in Salt Lake. Wedensday we packed up and headed to Heber, UT for my family reuinion that lasted unitl that Saturday. We then left early saturday to go back to Idaho for Doug's family reuinion and just got back in to my parents house today. All I can say is I'm done with long car rides for a while.

We had a great time with family and I'll post pictures as soon as I can. So until then, have a great rest of the summer (which is almost over...sad)!

craziness

It's been crazy around my house...I know some of you are thinking how, since I don't have a child here right now. But I've been cleaning like crazy and trying to get things together for our trip tomorrow. Doug and I will be leaving tomorrow afternoon so everything needs to be done tonight. I'm exhausted!

Another bit of craziness was when I went to the doctor today. He told me that at my next appointment we will be scheduling the C-section! What?!! I can't believe how fast it's coming. Just four more weeks and we'll know when Preston is coming...like I said, CRAZY!

Well, I must go and finish all my work...if I can pry myself away from the Olympics!

FINALLY!!

It came...my book! I had pre-ordered it in February and I finally received it yesterday. I can't tell you how mad I had been when it hadn't shown up on time...just ask Doug, he'll tell you! So I started it last night, got half way through, and am hoping to finish it tonight when Drew goes to bed. Poor Doug doesn't get to see much of me! But at least I'm getting it done in two nights instead of dragging it on! I'll post my feelings about it when I'm done.

I did it!

Alright, so I decided not to wait until I got to Utah to start my baby blanket. Although I might make one there too! Drew and I went to the fabric store yesterday and he couldn't get over this fabric with trains on it! So, we brought it home and I got to work. I thought I'd start it and then finish it when I got the time, figured it was going to take me a long time! Well, the blanket wasn't as hard to do as I thought and I finished the whole thing! It only took me a couple hours to do it...not counting the washing of the fabric that had to come first! The hardest part was measuring and cutting both pieces of fabric so they are the same size. So here you have it...the finished project!

ponderings

I've been sitting here making a list of things to pack for our trip back to Utah...shirts, pants, dress clothes, etc. And it occurred to me, by the time I get back from Utah, I will only have two and a half months left of this pregnancy! I can't believe how time flies. When I was pregnant with Drew I thought I would be pregnant forever, now I'm wonder where the time has gone. In fact at my last Dr. appointments, they told me to take a copy of my records home with me just in case something happens. I mean, what the heck!! I told Doug that he needs to start getting out all of our baby stuff so that I can go through it, wash it all, and set things up. I'll need something to do when I get back.

I've also been wanting to make a baby blanket. You know those fleece kind that you sew that has the curved edges? Well, that's my project I want to do...I guess I need to get started on it or it will never be finished by the time Preston is here! Hopefully in Utah I can find some great fabric. I know Joanne's Fabric has some good things in there, but sometimes they aren't that cheep. Anyone know of a good place to get some fleece that's not too pricey?
