Bed Time Prayer

I love to read other people's blogs, and I happened across one of the girls in our ward. She was talking about teaching her little girl how to pray. (I think her daughter is slightly younger than Drew, although I'm not quite sure). I thought that it would be a great idea to start doing that with Drew. He's at the age where he might understand. So I took him up to bed last night and sat him on the edge of it. I knelt down at his feet and told him to fold his arms. As he sat there so cute with his arms nicely folded, I started to pray. In the middle of my prayer I felt Drew bend over and kiss my head! But he still had his arms folded. When I said Amen, I heard this cute little, "Amen!" Drew got so excited and then laid his head down to go to sleep! It made me so happy that our first attempt to say a prayer at his bedside went so well! That will definately be a nightly routine!

New Family in the Ward

We just had this cute family move into our ward from Provo, UT (just so you know, half our ward is from Utah)! Their names are Dave and Mary Pinneager (I'm sorry, but I have no idea how to spell it). Anyway, as Doug and I were talking to them, we found out that we are sort of related! Doug's brother, Matt, married a wonderful girl, Ann Marie. Well Dave is Ann Marie's cousin! They have two cute boys, David, he is about Drew's age, and then Hyrum, he is under one. This is the nicest couple ever and I'm so excited to have them over for dinner on Sunday!

Bubble Party

This last Saturday, Drew got to go to a bubble birthday party. Here in the picture you see Drew and he is fishing for ducks. If they could get two ducks of the same color in the net then they got a sucker. Drew went for the yellow ones! Then they put a piece of paper over a bowl. The bowls were filled with different color bubbles. They had to blow through a straw and make the bubble puff up and then the bubbles would make different designs on their paper. It was such a cute idea! Thank you Erica for a great birthday party. Drew had a such a good time that he came home and wanted to get our bubbles out!

Visiting Grandma

My mom is a flight attendant for Skywest Airlines and gets to fly all over the place. Well last weekend she had an overnight layover in Omaha, NE. So I got Drew in the tub, put on his pajamas and he and I headed out to see her. Omaha is about 2 hours away from us, so it didn't take us long to get there. When we got there we had to drive around for a while since her plane wasn't in yet, but once she got there, Drew went from sleepy, to full of energy! My mom and I kept trying to put him to bed, but all he wanted to do was get up and play. We finally got him to sleep and tried to sleep ourselves. That was hard for me since we put Drew inbetween my mom and me and he kept pushing me to the edge of the bed! Anyway, we got to spend the next morning with her before she had to fly back out. It was so good to see her and Drew had such a good time with his Grandma that he didn't want to leave! Thanks mom for letting us come see you! We love you!

Tuesday's at the Park

Tuesday nights are when we spend time at the ball park. Doug plays on a softball team with a bunch of his friends. Drew usually has no interest in the game and wants to play at the playground. He did play at the playground some of the time last Tuesday, but he actually sat and watched Doug play for a while.

When Doug was up to bat, Drew would cheer, "Yeah Daddy!" so loud that every could hear and was laughing. But this particular time, Doug got a tripple (Drew has no idea what a tripple is) and Drew got so excited, he cheered so loud and threw his hands in the air. As you can see by the picture, I just had to photograph it. He was so cute! And Doug absolutely loved having a cheerleader there!

Happy Birthday to Me!

I know it's been almost five days since my birthday, but I've been wanting Doug to take a picture of me on my present he bought...a bike! But since we never got to that, you all get to see it in my dining room! Doug and I got our bikes last friday and had to buy a trailer so Drew could ride with us! We are absolutely loving them. We've been on a bike ride almost every night! They are so much fun, and it's my excuse for good exercise!

Drew the human Buoy!

We went swimming one day at our pool with a bunch of friends and I was noticed my friend Debbie with her little boy Gage. He was wearing a life jacket with arm floaters. As I was fighting with Drew to stay in his little floaty (you know the one that you sit in), I thought to myself...what a great idea Debbie! So I went to Costco, bought Drew a life jacket and we were off to the pool. As I put Drew in his life jacket and put him in the water I noticed that he kept putting his face in the water. Again, I thought about Gage....THE ARM FLOATERS!! So I put the arm floaters on Drew and walla, his face stayed up. Now all he does is jump in the water from the second stair and swim around! Thanks to Debbie and her great idea, Drew can now enjoy the pool!

My Model

Look out GQ, here comes the next big thing....Andrew Giles! Isn't he cute? Doug and I were laughing yesterday at this. Drew drinking his juice with his hand in his pocket! We both thought he looked like a male model! Well, one can dream!

Once Again!

Well it's getting closer for me to be leaving you all, but it will only be for a short while! As you all know I will be heading back to Utah the end of August to participate in the JDRF walk for Type 1 diabetes. I just wanted to put my web page out here again in case there was anyone who wanted to donate who didn't have a chance. Thanks to everybody who has donated, it is greatly apprecialted. Just copy and paste.
