forgotten words

So apparently I missed a few things that Drew has been saying, and I don't know how I missed them. He says these at least 10 times a day!

First, he goes around all day long singing the theme song to "Cops," you know the one I'm talking about, "Bad boys, bad boys. What ya gonna do, what ya gonna do when they come for you?" Yeah, that one! It's hilarious!

Lately when he's gotten mad he's been folding his arms and telling me, "Never, never, never!" Like that's going to work! Just because you tell me never doesn't mean you're not going to do whatever I say!
Whenever he is trying to pick something out, whether it be a toy, or food, he bends down and puts his finger up to his lips and says, "Hmmm, let me see." I have no idea where he got that one.
And lastly, he likes to go up to my room at night and watch TV while sitting on my bed. I usually don't mind this because it's winding him down to go to sleep. But after a few minutes of being up there, he yells, "Mom/dad, come sit by us!" I don't know who 'us' is, but apparently we need to sit by them!

On to a different note, I've been on the hunt for a great diaper bag. One that's not too big, but definitely not too small and that has a lot of pockets. Well, yesterday at church I was talking to a friend of mine and saw her diaper bag and immediately fell in love with it! The problem is, is I can't decide which one I like the best. I'm really loving A and C. What do you think? If you like these bags, they have a ton of different styles found HERE.

Have a happy Monday!

c-section and funny sayings

Well, we finally found out when Preston will be coming! Unless I go into labor before then...which I highly doubt, our c-section is December 2! We were hoping it would be a little sooner, but oh well, at least we have the date! And we're also glad that we don't have to worry about scheduling it around Doug's comp exam. He's stressed out enough as it is, we don't need a baby coming the day he needs to take that!

Drew has become quite the character. He is talking NON-STOP and constantly going. Of course, I should expect that since he'll be 3 in three weeks. But he has started saying the funniest things. I'm not quite sure where he comes up with them...me probably! (well, for some of them anyway)!

"Oh the humanity!" (This one comes from my dad. My dad said it one day playing with Drew and now Drew says it all the time).
"Holy crap!" (I'm pretty sure that one comes from me)!
"The monsters are coming." (no idea where that one comes from).
"Mom, there are ghosts!" (I mean...where did that come from?)
Here is a conversation that I know my brother-in-law will love.
Grandpa: "Are you strong?"
Drew: "Yes!"
Grandpa: "You're strong like a doctor?"
Drew: "No! I'm strong like a pilot!"

He is constantly coming up with these things. All I can say is that I'm glad he does because it keeps me laughing!

Drew's Burrito!

Drew is just loving school! He comes home with stories about playing with trucks and with play dough, how they sing songs and clean up. They have even had craft time. Wednesday they had the kids put colored foam pieces on a blue paper in any way they wanted. When I picked Drew up from school I found this in his bin:
Now, to me it looked like poop, but when I asked Drew what it was he was too embarrassed to tell me. Finally I asked him again, "Drew what is this on your picture?" He finally confessed to me that, "It's a burrito!" It took everything I had not to laugh, but to tell him what a great job he did on his 'burrito'! Right now it's hanging on the fridge!

home/first day

Well, we made it back home! It's so nice to be in your own place. I just want to say thank you to all of our family (both sides) for putting up with us! And thank you to my dad to for driving us home! We love you!

On to some exciting news...today is Drew's first day of preschool! He was so excited, as you can tell, that he couldn't stop from dancing! It was so cute taking his picture this morning! I can't wait to hear how his day went. I just hope he has a good time.

"Yeah! Pweschool!"

He's excited!

Can't keep from dancing!

ending

Well, my stay here in Utah is practically over. Today we will be heading to my dad's company Lagoon day, and tomorrow we'll be on the road to Iowa. I've loved being here and spending time with my family, I never know when I'll get to see my siblings when I leave. But on the other hand, I'm ready to get home. Ready to be back into my routine, which will now add preschool for Drew! I'm so excited! He missed his first week, but by golly, he'll be there for his second!

Hope everyone has a good weekend! Can't wait to see all you Iowans again!
