Wow! What a week it has been....

And it's not even over yet! This week has been eye opening for me. Doug started rotations again on Monday, so it has been my first week alone with the two kids. (Erica, I'm totally going to need some pointers from you)!

It all started with Monday. Preston had another weight check appointment so I had to take Drew with me as well. It's not that easy carting around two kids...those of you that do it, know! As for Preston's weight, he finally put on two pounds. He now weighs in at 12.1! What a chunk! The doctor is still a little worried about him spitting up so much, so she made us an appointment for the end of the month to see a Pediatric GI Specialist...how fun. I'm just happy that the rice cereal is helping him gain weight.

Tuesday was an adventure just being at home. While I'm trying to feed Preston, Drew needs attention, and then there is a mess somewhere in the house, or Drew is trying to get out his finger paints all by himself! And then when he doesn't get his way, Mr. Attitude shows up and demands to have things....ARGG! Poor Doug, by the time he comes home I am exhausted! I know I'll get the hang of this, I just hope it's soon!

Wednesday was nice because Drew had preschool. Even though the getting up early to get things done to have Drew to school by 9:30 was a challenge, it was nice to just have one child with me. I actually got some grocery shopping done...and my eyebrows waxed!!

Today I managed to have a friend over for lunch with her little baby. Her adorable baby boy is exactly a week older than Preston. It was really nice to to have her here because I hadn't seen her in over a month. Thanks Sarah!

Now, do any of you readers have any suggestions to keep a three year old little boy entertained all day? I'm in need of some activities for him!

hmm... when you're busy feeding preston you could have drew bring you books to read, or somehting else that he can hold and you can still interact with him. Also, I know some kids aren't into it, but Brooklyn LOVES puzzles. If you haven't tried them, they have really simple ones that maybe he'd play with for a while?

Wow it is so neat to hear your life as a busy mom! I heard a cute idea, one friend makes the day into a preschool type setting. 10am shapes, 11am wiggle songs, 12 lunch, 1pm nap, 2pm art time, stuff like that. I don't know if that would work for you, but she said keeping it consistant and like a school day at home keeps her kids entertained. Good luck!

Give him some sticks, lock his door, put the monitor in the room but set it so only the lights show (no sound) and get yourself some earplugs.

My favorite is the shaving cream in the bathtub with food coloring. My boys LOVE it. They come out a little stained sometimes and they slip around a lot but it definitely takes up a lot of time and you could relax for a moment with him contained in the tub. =)
